October 24 marks the date of the largest winter schedule of United Airlines, after achieving a successful summer, where it served 48 million passengers worldwide. By including a daily average of 4,600 flights for the peak season and expanding the routes across 140 U.S. airports, the new winter schedule has made itself stand out. In addition, United Airlines aims to provide efficient connectivity to popular ski and sun destinations, setting a scene for the upcoming busy winter.
Winter Sports Connectivity Increased
Great news for winter sports enthusiasts, planning their winter getaway at famous ski resorts and destinations! United Airlines has planned to provide its services to famous ski resorts like Jackson Hole, WY, and Sun Valley, ID. This will increase its daily flights threefold compared to its competitors. The new season routes are Bozeman, MT, and Kalispell, MT.
Solidifying Presence in Africa
United Airlines is all set to create another milestone by introducing the largest airline network in Africa. Starting this winter, the airline will provide direct connectivity between the US and Marrakesh. The flight services are scheduled tri-weekly and will connect Newark/New York to Marrakesh making it the sole airline offering direct flights to this destination. In May 2025, United Airlines will start its new service from Washington Dulles to Dakar, Senegal, and has also planned to increase its weekly flights to Accra, Ghana, and Lagos, Nigeria, marking its presence in Africa.
Latin America Growth
Expecting remarkable growth in Latin America this winter, United Airlines has increased its flights by 10%. On November 13, year-round services from Houston to Medellin will be launched which will also serve the existing routes to Bogota. Non-stop flights from Dominica to the Northeast US will start from February 15. In addition to this United has also expanded its services from San Francisco to Monterrey, Mexico, and has added flights to Belize City.
Newark/New York to St. Kitts will start getting weekly nonstop flights in November and will extend its services to Bermuda. To cater to the peak demand of the winter holidays, the number of flights from Newark/New York and Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago has been increased. Later in the season, United has planned to offer direct flights to the public traveling from Houston to Medellin/Colombia and Newark/New York to Dominica.
Supporting Its Domestic Sector
While launching the biggest winter schedule, United has simultaneously worked on its domestic growth by increasing the number of flights at 140 US airports. Tourists traveling to destinations such as Phoenix, Palm Springs, and San Diego will have 13% more seat availability. United has also planned to introduce new nonstop services from Washington Dulles to Salt City and Palm Springs. In addition to this, the airline has also taken an initiative to ramp up its Florida operations by adding about 20 departures from its main hubs to its connecting cities and has also included a popular nonstop route from Cleveland to Cancun.
Europe and Pacific Schedules
Last summer Europe's travel scene reached a record high, due to which United Airlines extended its services to popular destinations including Greece, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The airline has also extended its seasonal routes that include nonstop service to Milan and Rome from Chicago O’Hare and to Madrid from Washington Dulles, which is available throughout December 2024.
From October 27, 2024, United Airlines introduced its daily flights to Cebu, Philippines from Tokyo/Narita offering passengers a nonstop flight option to five US hubs. To meet the high demand for flights to Seoul-Incheon and Hong Kong, United has expanded its service offering more flights for its passengers.
